The Zotkina
sisters, Anita and Oksana, grew up in the city of Odessa, Ukraine.
Odessa, founded by Katherine the Second, has long been an Eastern
European center of culture and commerce. Located on the Black Sea,
Odessa is known for its busy port and as a beautiful ocean-side
resort. In addition to being the birth city of renowned poets, authors
and artists, Odessa has a rich tradition of supporting the arts
and is home to one of the world's most beautiful opera houses.
Anita and Oksana
both studied art at the Youth School of Fine Arts of the Odessa
Grekov Art College. The school provides instruction in the fine
arts for children and young adults and has been a long time training
ground for artists from the Southern Ukraine.
In the early 1990's the sisters began to display their works in
local galleries and markets and to expand and refine their individual
techniques in response to the demand for their paintings.
Anita and Oksana,
each currently resides with her respective family in New England
where they continue to pursue their love of painting and drawing.
In addition to this website, the sisters display their work at various
galleries, competitions and public showings and accept requests
for custom works of art based on a client's specifications.
